BMW launches the new X1 Tech Edition
The BMW X1 is now available in a new limited-edition Tech Edition variant which, as the name suggests, benefits from additional equipment compared to the standard SUV. The X1 Tech Edition was sold for 43 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in limited units only in the BMW online store.
The most important update for the X1 Tech Edition is its equipment list. Notably, the X1 Tech Edition comes with a larger 10.25-inch center infotainment screen compared to the 8.8-inch unit of the fully loaded xLine variants. The high-resolution display features touchscreen functionality, but also retains the iDrive rotary controller on the center console. BMW has also added a new heads-up display, wireless phone charging and a new 205W Hi-Fi audio system to the X1 as part of the Tech Edition update.
On the outside, the X1 Tech Edition doesn’t boast any cosmetic upgrades over other versions of the X1. However, it gets a new design for the 18 inch alloy rims. The X1 Tech Edition is available with two color options – Alpine White and Phytonic Blue – while the interior has an Oyster Black coating.
Some of the standard features that have been carried over from the rest of the lineup include a large panoramic sunroof, six-color ambient lighting, power front seats with memory function, wireless Apple CarPlay and much more. Safety features include six airbags, attention assist, dynamic stability control (DSC), dynamic traction control (DTC), cornering brake control (CBC), electric parking brake with automatic hold, etc.
Under the hood, the X1 Tech Edition is only offered with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 192 hp and 280 Nm of torque. The unit comes standard with a 7-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission.
