Gerald Carter has worked with cars since he was a child. Even before he was of legal driving age, Carter already owned three cars at age 15 and loved working with all three. Unsurprisingly, he got into the automotive business and earned a college degree in mechanics and business management. From there, he found a business partner to work with and opened Affordable Auto, running that business for seven years before selling it and working at Grant Tire and Auto as general manager. After working there for several years, Carter wanted to become the owner of his own shop again.
“I wanted to be in charge of my own future,” Carter said. “I wanted to be an entrepreneur, have my own shop, and basically be responsible for the success or failure of my own financial future.”
