Shimla, Aug 21 (PTI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chairman JP Nadda visited the store on Sunday where he used to drink tea and eat omelets when he was a student at the University of Himachal Pradesh in the 1980s. Nadda touched the feet of confectionery owner Nathuram Thakur (86) and his knowledge of health. Nathuram has two sons and the shop is now run by his relative Mast Ram Thakur. Shimla, Aug 21 (PTI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chairman JP Nadda on Sunday visited the store where he used to drink tea and eat omelets when he was a student at the University of Himachal Pradesh in the 1980s.

Nadda touched the feet of confectionery owner Nathuram Thakur (86) and inquired about his condition. Nathuram has two sons and the shop is now run by his relative Mast Ram Thakur.

Nadda also met Jagmohan, another trader. He invites Nathuram Thakur and Jagmohan for his youngest son’s wedding, which is scheduled for soon.

The BJP chairman said he grew up here and it was like his second home. “Blessings from elders always lift my spirits,” he said.

Later, Nadda also went to Mall Road, Indian Coffee House and Scandal Point and interacted with people there.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Minister Suresh Bhardwaj and BJP State Chairman Suresh Kashyap also attended the occasion. Earlier, Nadda University alumni attended the conference.
