The owner of an Aldine auto repair shop has been rescued from a fire with third-degree burns

A man was injured in a building fire on Memory and Sweetwater Lanes on Sunday August 7, 2022.

A car repair shop near Aldine caught fire on Sunday, leaving the owner who tried to fight the blaze with third-degree burns.

The Little York Fire Department arrived around 1 a.m. at the store at Memory Lane and Sweetwater. The owner had tried to put out the flames but was found on the ground with his injuries, authorities said.

Firefighters pulled him out of the building and took him to hospital in an unknown condition.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Greases and flammable liquids associated with vehicles were involved, said Lt. James Singleton of the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office.
