Vergent Products signs deal with Indian manufacturer to share potential customers – Loveland Reporter-Herald

Vergent Products Inc. of Loveland has signed a global strategic partnership with a major contract manufacturer in India.

Vergent and Napino Digital Solutions, based in Gurgaon, Haryana, India, but with production facilities across India, have agreed to split customers as per customer requirements.

“We are a mid-volume manufacturing operation,” said John Sage, vice president of business development at Vergent. “When a job comes to us, our client may need a higher volume at some point, and when that happens the client is looking for cost reductions, often overseas.”

The deal with Napino means Vergent can provide “known quantity transfer” to a larger manufacturer. “That’s what excites us,” he said.

Sage said Napino does not have a footprint in the United States, so the deal allows it “to tell its customer that it can start production in the United States with Vergent.”

According to a press release, Vergent Products, founded in 1995, is a “right-sized partner” to help bring industrial, medical, aerospace and defense products to market.

Vergent has invested in process controls and “an exceptional quality management system. … With product design and manufacturing under one roof in the United States, Vergent is an end-to-end product realization company uniquely positioned to deliver electromechanical products to market. His unique combination of discipline and speed is what customers value most when working with Vergent Products. »

Napino Digital Solutions is part of the Napino Group in India and focuses on the design and development of Internet of Things (IoT) products and solutions. Napino’s portfolio includes over 25 IoT products in automotive telematics, cameras, smart speakers, location and environment trackers, wearables, modular IoT gateways and media access products and telecommunications. Napino works with IoT product companies and Tier 1 automotive companies in India, the United States and Europe, according to the press release.

IoT refers to physical objects capable of collecting and exchanging data using sensors and other technologies.

“We are thrilled to enter into this partnership with Napino Digital Solutions,” said Jay Dokter, President and CEO of Vergent. “Both companies share a common vision of delivering exceptional quality to our customers. Napino’s manufacturing footprint in India and Vergent’s manufacturing footprint in the United States complement each other and allow us to offer our customers the flexibility to manufacture products in either region with support localized.

Naveen Kumar Singh, CEO of Napino Group, agrees.

“Partnering with Vergent Products to bring transformation to our customers will allow us to deliver the best business, and design and build the next generation of digital electronic devices,” said Singh. “Combined with the exceptional delivery facility and manufacturing capability in the United States of America, this partnership will allow us to have a much greater business impact for our customers.”

The collaboration between the two makers grew out of a common bond with an investment company, Sage said. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, he added, Vergent reached out to an investment firm that was helping support a client. The investment company knew Napino and recognized similarities between the two operations. A connection has been established.

Sage said the agreement between the two companies is not a financial relationship but “purely a business responsibility sharing agreement”.
